I am not going crazy about fidget spinners.\u00a0But my brother is, and Papa and I love 3d printing, so we accepted the challenge to make our own. We experimented (and are still experimenting) with different bearings and designs using\u00a0tinkercad.com, a beautiful yet easy way to import and create stuff to 3d print or laser cut. \u00a0I have used it countless times to create my own worlds. \u00a0Here is an example of one entitled &quot;Tango&#8217;s Throne&quot;.<\/div>\n<p><img src=\"http:\/\/static.wixstatic.com\/media\/3df3c1_4a6d2163cf0b415c914d412823e73065~mv2.png\"\/><\/p>\n<div>\u00a0Anyway, we downloaded a few bases from\u00a0http:\/\/www.thingiverse.com\/ (to make sure the bearings would fit) and went and modified them to fit our needs.\u00a0<\/div>\n<p><img src=\"http:\/\/static.wixstatic.com\/media\/3df3c1_ae7799a822ee4e1a8ffa254607d6e62f~mv2.png\"\/><img src=\"http:\/\/static.wixstatic.com\/media\/3df3c1_6cdebad57fc44b52a1df10a4ef5931d5~mv2.png\"\/><\/p>\n<div>\u00a0Then I sent the files to Papa and he printed them out.<\/div>\n<div>No.1 &#8212; the first style of base we tried.<\/div>\n<p><img src=\"http:\/\/static.wixstatic.com\/media\/3df3c1_dac38965efe64f3d822c3509c142ace6~mv2.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<div>\u00a0No.2 &#8212; the second style of base we tried.<\/div>\n<p><img src=\"http:\/\/static.wixstatic.com\/media\/3df3c1_7645c5752e5b4b18931051242670ad2f~mv2.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<div>As you can (hopefully) see\u00a0the second one spun longer. That is because there are ridges on the outside of the second one that give you more grip and thus make it spin faster. \u00a0Also, the black bearings that we used have less friction than the silver ones in the first model.
